(Day 1) Zodiac Painting - Join us for a session where East Meets West. Paint an Ox using western techniques to achieve an Eastern-inspired painting just in time for the Lunar New Year Holidays!

(Day 2) Springtime Stitch Cards - Create beautiful springtime inspired patterns with embroidery threads and yarns.

Let your creative juices flow in our 2hr Art Jam session! Come along on a solo painting journey with us, and unwind your mind from a hectic day, or use the time to bond with a family member or friend. Freestyle painting is a great way to express yourself and to communicate with the world through colours and strokes.

About Canvas Ark @ SAFRA

SAFRA’s First Arts Programme for Kids!

Ignite your child’s creativity at Canvas Ark @ SAFRA.
A curriculum designed to encourage confident young mind’s to be curious and to explore their creative options.

Guided by a team of trained visual arts instructors, the programme focuses on 7 Artistic Processes: Inspiration, Imagination, Emotion, Expression, Experimentation, Materiality and Presentation towards a balanced emphasis on process and products, using various materials, and a variety of traditional and modern art mediums such as drawing painting and clay modeling.

At the end of each art session, students are encouraged to share and reflect on their final masterpiece as well as their thoughts behind their art-making process. Engagement in different process of art creation, children develop creativity, self-confidence, and discover the joy of using art to improve communication.

Progressive Art Programme (7 - 12 years)

Build confidence and develop your child's artistic skills and improve their techniques. In this progressive programme, they will learn a variety of skills and techniques such as Blind Contour Drawing, Shading Techniques with different art materials such as Chinese ink, soft pastels and charcoal. Learn to draw and paint using inspirations from famous artistes and discover how to use the same techniques from famous artworks and apply them to their own art pieces.

Janurary -  February (7 Lessons)


In the 7 lessons, observe an object in all of its details with blind contour drawing without looking down or lifting the papers. Students will learn to express their ideas or thoughts by creating markings and exploring the different patterns and textures in markings found in art and in life. Understand the essentials to draw with tones, highlights and shadows and more.


March - April (8 Lessons)


In the 8 lessons, students will learn about the different methods of painting by creating a monochromatic painting using only one colour or hue by using gradients to create depth in a landscape painting. Students will be reintroduced to colours to help them understand and how to mix paint using the proper techniques and ratio for their artworks.



Thematic Art Programme (4 - 12 years)

Thematic Art Programme is an exploratory art programme perfect for kids with a little to no art background ages 4 to 12 years old. They will explore a variety of art mediums such as painting, drawing, clay making and more! At the end of each session, they will get to take home their very own masterpiece.

Dive into lessons with us in Jan as we explore the Water Adventures. 
Create your own fish aquarium and your very own treasure map that leads to your secrets and treasures!
Kids will learn about different types of art mediums and bring home their masterpieces.
Get creative in Feb with mosaic. Mosaic is a pattern or image made of small regular or irregular pieces of materials such as paper, pebbles, glass, ceramic etc, covering a surface. Improve your child's drawing by creating a mosaic tree filled with textures and colours and improve their concentration by piecing together a beautiful sunflower art.
Kids will learn about difference types of art mediums each lesson and bring home their masterpieces.

Oct - Cityscapes


Being city people, we sometimes forget the beauty of our city skyline. In this month's theme, kids will step into night and day cityscapes to create their very own art pieces, exploring the perfect lines and shapes of buildings and the landscape effects. 



Appreciate the true beauty of light in the darkness. Learn about colours, tones, and how contrasting colours can be used to create masterpieces. Experiment with chalk and pastel; kids will be guided to use their fingers to blend colours and create a northern lights winter landscape painting.




Springtime is a wonderful season when plants grow and flowers bloom. Join us this month to appreciate the season’s beauty with watercolor painting. Create a mountain scenery of tulips on canvas, discover the organic shapes and patterns of plants and flowers and transfer them onto paper.

This month is all about FOOD! Explore the different textures of fruits and vegetables by creating prints and patterns with paint. Pinch and mold clay and transform them into burgers and fries! Hungry for a pizza? Use your imagination to create your own personalized pizza along with all your favourite toppings.

Diving into the minds of famous artists like Picasso and Andy Warhol. Our students learned a few similar art techniques these artists used in the past to create their masterpieces. They learned to express themselves through art with bold and striking colour like Andy Warhol while also having fun experimenting with new craft materials and was inspired by the colours and the fluidity of Henri Matisse.



Floral and Nature (FEB) Theme Image


Floral and Nature was all about appreciating nature’s wonders. Our kids used natural objects like leaves, flowers, seashells and more to make their crafts. Exploring new ways to make ART!

Safari Escape Theme Image


Our students discovered a fun and easy way to draw animals using simple shapes and sizes of ovals. They also explored with different mediums like watercolour and acrylic to create a beautiful gradient sunset background. Students get to take home their art piece at the end of every lesson.

Outerspace Adventure was the theme for the December school holidays.
Students created beautiful art pieces using watercolour and sea salt and learned to create colourful rocket ships using recyclables found in the comfort of their homes.

Monsters are silly and fun creatures which are a great way for kids to learn more about facial expressions. This month, we got our students to observe how the expressions of monsters in each of their creative minds looked to create an exciting story through art!
